3 New Agents Seeking Nonfiction, Literary Fiction, Middle Grade, YA, Mystery, Romance and more

Updated 11/5/23

Here are three new agents actively seeking clients. New agents are a boon to writers. They are actively building their lists, and will go the extra mile for their clients.

Tom Killingbeck is interested in non-fiction. Jenissa Graham is currently seeking submissions for middle grade, YA, and select adult projects. In middle grade and YA, she is interested in contemporary, action/adventure, mystery/suspense, sci-fi, fantasy, and psychological thrillers. In adult, she is only currently open to mystery/suspense and psychological thrillers.

Hannah Strouth is looking for historical fiction, contemporary rom-coms, and upmarket/literary fiction.

Always check the agency website and agent bio before submitting. Agents can switch agencies or close their lists, and submission requirements can change.

NOTEDon't submit to two agents at the same agency simultaneously. If one rejects you, you may then submit to another.

Mr. Tom Killingbeck of A.M. Heath & Co. Ltd (UK)

I joined AM Heath as a literary agent in 2022. Previously I was an editorial director at Penguin and HarperCollins, where I worked with an eclectic group of authors including Dame Jane Goodall, John Preston, Bella Mackie, Isabel Hardman, Sarah Langford, Ed Caesar, Adam Higginbotham, Kathleen Hanna, Bimini Bon Boulash and The Modern House. I also helped to launch the 4thWrite Prize. As an agent with over a decade of experience as an editor, I relish working closely and creatively with academics who want to reach the broadest possible readership for their writing, and journalists and memoirists with the storytelling abilities of the best novelists.

What he is seeking; I specialise in non-fiction, seeking fresh, expert perspectives on history, science, nature, politics, big ideas, smart thinking, economics, health, and the arts. I am particularly interested in writers who can open readers’ minds, improve their lives and help them see the world differently, whether that be through untold histories, ground-breaking science, or revelatory journalism. I'm always keen to find 'category killing' books that will remain the definitive work on a subject for a popular readership for a decade or more. I would love to hear from academics or public figures with a unique expertise, who are keen to find a mainstream audience for their ideas and writing. I welcome approaches from writers who are in the earliest stages of thinking about writing a nonfiction book.
