Here are five new literary agents actively seeking clients. New agents are a boon to writers. They are actively building their lists, and will go the extra mile for their clients.
All of these agents work for established agencies with good track records. They are looking for all genres.
Always check the agency website and agent bio before submitting. Agents can switch agencies or close their lists, and submission requirements can change.
NOTE: Don't submit to several agents at the same agency simultaneously. If one rejects you, you may then submit to another. (Some small agencies share. Be alert to a notice that "a no from one is a no from all.")

I’m a Junior Agent actively building my list at Writers House. I’ve had the privilege of working with Steven Malk and his wonderful list of authors and illustrators over the past four years, and with his support and mentorship I am excited to start building my own list.

Alex Levenberg joined WME's International Rights team as an Agent in 2024, after serving as the Global Rights Director at Amazon Publishing, where she worked for nearly 11 years building and running its rights business, covering fiction, nonfiction, YA, and children's books. Amanda Carbonell is a Puerto Rican MG & YA writer who also dabbles in NA. I majored in Literature and Creative Writing and have worked as a librarian and a manuscript reader for numerous publishing houses. I am the co-founder and editor of Spell Jar Press, which publishes print anthologies.
What she is seeking: Fiction: I am particularly interested in reading more New Adult fiction, especially fantasy with an emphasis on romantasy. I love magical realism, gothic and dark academia, as well as historical novels and retellings. In romance, I prefer stories that have an emotional impact and complexities. Some of my favorite tropes are slow burn, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and forbidden love.
I also seek upmarket fiction, contemporary, family saga, commercial, and women’s fiction.
Non-Fiction: I am interested in historical narratives with compelling storytelling, memoirs or biographies (preferably related to wartime), and works on spirituality and esoteric topics.
