4 New Agents Seeking Kidlit, SFF, Literary Fiction, Nonfiction, Romance, Mystery, Horror and more

Here are four new literary agents actively seeking writers. New agents are a boon to writers. They are actively building their lists, and will go the extra mile for their clients.

Natasha Mihell is looking for Adult, NA, YA, MG, and Picture books. SFF, Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction, Transgressive Fiction, Graphic Novel (Historical Fiction/Non-Fiction only), Biography/Memoir, History/Politics. Select Horror. 

Caroline Trussell is seeking Thrillers, Cozy Mysteries, Romance, Fantasy, Young Adult, Middle Grade, stories that feature dynamic characters with non-visible disabilities and/or mental illness.

Allegra Martschenko is looking for beautifully written YA science fiction and fantasy books. Allegra is currently prioritizing clients writing adult fiction.

Megan Frayser wants Adult: Contemporary Romance, Women’s Fiction, Book Club Fiction, Mystery/Thriller, Horror, Mythological Retellings, Dark Academia, Fantasy, Nonfiction, True Crime, Sociology. Young Adult: Contemporary, Romance, Mystery, Fantasy, Horror.

Always check the agency website and agent bio before submitting. Agents can switch agencies or close their lists, and submission requirements can change.

Ms. Megan Frayser of Creative Media Agency

After graduating from the College of William and Mary, Megan Frayser began her journey in publishing with internships at Tule Publishing Group and Liza Dawson Associates. Natasha Mihell is a writer, editor, and regular participant in NaNoWriMo, and has worked as an editorial assistant at TRF, an intern book scout, and an #IndigoEmployee. At Indigo, she sold books, organized author events, championed HarperCollins Canada, and raised funds for the Love of Reading Foundation, among other things. Outside the literary world, Natasha is a trained soprano with a BA (Hons.) in Political Science currently working toward a Masters in Public Administration.

Allegra Martschenko of Ladderbird Literary Agency

They started in publishing as a Sales intern at Princeton University Press, did a brief stint in children’s trade publishing, and spent a year at Cornell University Press as a 2020-2021 Mellon Diversity Fellow.

What she is seeking: Allegra is looking for beautifully written science fiction and fantasy books in the young adult and adult space. Their top priority is elevating stories and authors traditionally marginalized in publishing and they are always on the hunt for gorgeous prose. Allegra prefers older YA and is open to crossover. They appreciate a romance subplot, especially if it’s queer, but there are so many types of love—it doesn’t need to be romantic! Allegra is currently prioritizing clients in the Adult space.
